Vancouver Fashion – Adhesif’s Spring/Summer 2010 Collection

Adhesif Clothing’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection is now available, and we’re excited to see all of the innovative new designs and fun Alice in Wonderland theme. Vancouver local Melissa Ferreira has designed pieces that are whimsical and flirty, that you can feel good about wearing. They are all made from reworked vintage material so they are very eco-friendly.

Melissa Ferreira started sewing at a young age and is mostly self taught, with a few lessons from her mom. We love that one of the philosophies that drives her work is, “waste not, want not.” It’s a good rule to live by, and a great way to start off 2010!

Adhesif designs are available on Etsy (limited selection currently available), as well as in boutiques throughout Canada, visit the Adhesif website here for a full store listing and to see the rest of the collection.

Holiday Travel Essentials

December 7, 2009

I know a lot of us throughout the Pacific Northwest and other parts of North America had an interesting time travelling last holiday season! Flight delays, slippery roads, the works… If you’re flying – it’s best to be prepared. A comfy top like the one below from Vancouver line Peel, a case for your Ipod, and a laptop bag (I love that the one below is from upcycled materials) to stow your computer and some snacks – and you’re set.

1). Ipod case 2). Upcycled Laptop Bag 3). Matinee Pullover from Peel

Falling for Blue and Green

November 25, 2009

Accessories are the perfect way to freshen up any of your outfits from last year. I’m loving this purse from Vancouver designer Ashley Watson, hand stitched from recycled leather and clearly the type of quality purse that would last from season to season. The scarf from the very talented Michelle Brusegaard is just one of the items I’d love to own from her Etsy shop.

Allison Wonderland: Designer Allison Smith’s Fall 2009 collection is full of wearable, beautifully designed outerwear, sophisticated dresses and cute tops. An instant classic, I’m falling for the 1208 Le Travail Blazer. I’ll guarantee her designs will hang in your closet for many seasons to come.

Carny Love: Sound familiar? A Project Runway Canada contestant, Christie Clayton will be strutting her stuff wearing her own line of delightful Lolita style clothing mixed with artsy graphics and edgy street chic. My fave? The Chariot Shift, the peacock print is absolutely on trend.
