Today I’ve got my eyes on these sweet little pouches and clutches from Seaoats. Shop owner Malina does her best to use upcycled and recycled materials whenever possible and I’ve got to say her efforts result in some really gorgeous bags! Click here to visit her shop.

Peg and Awl

peg and awl

Today I’ve got my eyes on the work of Peg and Awl… Their Etsy shop stocks a clever collection of upcycled homewares and accessories, with everything from candles and bookends to art and jewelry. Each of their pieces is one of a kind and their source materials are found in their own neighborhood or neighborhoods around them. This husband and wife team, Margaux and Walter, have an eye for making what is old, new again, and helping the environment in the process!

Adhesif Clothing – Fall 2010 Preview & New Shop

June 18, 2010

We’ve got a doubleshot of goodness for you today from Vancouver’s own Adhesif Clothing. Not only has Adhesif just opened up their own brick and mortar shop, they’ve also shared a sneak peek of their 2010 Fall Collection with us, which will be in stores mid-August or so!

Why do we love Adhesif clothing so much? Not only is each piece gorgeous and unique – we’re also impressed that designer Melissa Ferreira takes great pains to upcycle vintage clothing into all new creations.

Melissa’s new boutique not only stocks her own line, but also other local favorites such as Little Houses, Dru’s Designs and Bronsino amongst many others.

For you out of towners you can also visit Adhesif’s online shop – and Little Houses has a wonderful Etsy shop here too.

Visit Adhesif Clothing’s Boutique at:
2202 Main Street (corner of E 6th Ave), Vancouver
Tuesday-Saturday: 11 to 7 – Sunday 11 to 5 – Monday: Closed

Peeko Apparel – Upcycled Fashion

upcycled clothing

Really impressed with all the latest clothing and bags from Calgary based Peeko Apparel – gorgeous stuff. Large portions of their pieces are either made from reclaimed fibre and upcycled or they’re reconstructed from pre-existing garments. Definitely some shopping you can feel good about.

Ball Mason Jars as Home Decor

Home Decor – Ball Mason Jars

These humble jars – invented in 1858 and once used only for canning – are now popping up everywhere. I love the various ways they’re being used: as casts for ceramics – as in the case of Alyssa Ettinger’s lantern shown above, as vases, and Post Road Vintage has taken things to the next level by using them in their upcycled coat hook.

I found a lot of these items thanks to teegee’s treasury on Etsy.
