Gastown is the perfect anti-mall destination with so many unique shops all within a few blocks of each other. They’ve come together to hold the Gastown ShopHop, a one night only shopping event. Go from shop to shop to enjoy holiday drinks and holiday deals! Check out the flyer here for all participating boutiques.
A few of my favorite boutiques:
-The Block never fails to amaze with its impeccable selection of local and international designers. Vancouver notables Erin Templeton, Mono by Heather Martin, and Sunja Link are all carried here, along with many others.
-Nouvelle Nouvelle, is a delightful boutique that carries one of my personal favourite lines Rabbit on the Run. I also love the styling of A Farmer’s Daughter fringe necklaces. Definitely come by Nouvelle Nouvelle and check out their handpicked selection of original clothing, paper products and jewellery.
-Dutil is the place to shop for denim in Vancouver. If you’re like me, you hate trying on jeans. So I always head to Dutil where their selection is second to none. The great staff will help you find the perfect jeans for your body. Lately I’ve been buying North Vancouver based brand Small Town, the fit is spectacular and they’re made in America.

On Black Friday, we’ve got just the reason you need to escape the crowded malls and big box stores, and support some of our local fashion boutiques. Ten of Portland’s best stores are participating in the East Meets West Passport Event. Pick up your passport at any of the stores on November 27th, and then get it stamped at the other stores for sale incentives.
Radish Underground has a great overview of the deals you get with your passport, including:
- Buy one item get one 50% off: Friday 10am-12pm
- 20% off store wide: Friday 12pm-8pm
- Free entrance to VIP after-party from 8-11pm November 27th with at least six stamps
- 15% off store wide over the weekend
- 10% off any one purchase for the rest of the year
I can’t wait for this event! I’m especially looking forward to perusing the apothecary at Flora, doing some holiday shopping a Redux, and checking out the Aster Park clothing line created by Radish Underground’s co-owner, Celestial Sipes.

Featured necklace: Old Indian Rupee Necklace
