Summer DIY’s & Handmade Decorations

I’m guessing you’re hosting at least one event at your place this summer, either a barbecue or baby shower or something along those lines! Even if you decide not to go all out with the decorations, there are lots of sweet DIY’s and wonderful handmade items to be found. Adding a simple bunting or lovely cakestand is enough to give any gathering a special feeling without feeling pressured to decorate to the 9’s.

DIY – Living Table

diy flower table

I’m a big fan of this sweet little diy! Can you imagine your guests faces at first when seeing this flower? I’m also thinking you could try something fun with a few flowers – even creating some kind of permanent “installation piece” ;) on your own dining room table. I think it could be a really fun way to “dress up” a side table too.

And happy Wednesday!

Christmas Tree Ornament DIY

Ribbon Star Ornaments

I’m liking this Christmas Tree Ornament tutorial found in the December issue of Martha Stewart. It’s simple to do, and can be completed with either excess wrapping paper, ribbon or any type of paper you’ve got around the house. I don’t know if you’re big on themed trees – ie. focussing on one, two or three colors – but this is an easy and inexpensive way to help get that special look and to incorporate your own handmade ornaments.
