Came across the site Redbubble recently – lots of great finds from artists available here! Everything from t-shirts, to stationery, and art.
I love these cards from Whatmilk, their creator Sabina is a self-taught artist from Germany who also takes some really wonderful photos.

When I heard from Karly at Sweet Beaker today I knew I had to feature her pretty shop. It’s filled with a fun assortment of paper goods – everything from tags for packages to recipe cards, pencil tins (and more). I had a great time browsing through it. Karly’s another wonderful woman juggling it all – custom graphic design, an Etsy shop and motherhood! Click here to visit her shop.
I’ve got the distinct feeling that I’ll be laying low at least part of this week. I had hoped to have my cold a wee bit under control today – but that’s not the case! So things might be a bit quiet as I recover…

Somebody’s going to need to hold me back from purchasing everything in Paper Leaves cute and quirky shop! Each item is so humorous and innovative. Their creator, Kristin, has her own very interesting story. After studying environmental studies and anthropology in college she set off for India to set up an ecovillage. She’s back in the States now as her visa has expired – but will be returning to begin work on this project again. In her own words: “I see capitalist culture as basically unsustainable, and decided to try and create a microcosmic alternative to that.” Kristin is a big fan of Etsy because it gives each of us an alternative to buying mass-produced goods and because of the support if offers to artists and craftspeople.

Today I’m inspired by Alexander von Humboldt’s new botanical book: “Botanical Exploration of the America’s” which I spotted over on Cool Hunting. I’m happy to see the botany trend continue on the blogs and in design – every time I see an item inspired by it, it reminds me to make some time to get outside – and of the simpler pleasures in life. Hope you had a great weekend – I was happy to be able to spend some time with the new paint and the art supplies that I got on Friday! Would love to hear about your weekend projects or happenings…

Today’s Handmade Finds are from Etsy shop Cutie Pie Company. This delightful shop features fun items like the above envelopes made out of vintage maps. Included in their stationery packages are vintage stamps that can be used on your letters. I know there has been a lot of talk over the years about how the art of letter writing has been lost – replaced by emails and facebook… I agree that it’s not only nice to send a letter the old fashioned way – I also think it’s nice how these types of things take you away from the computer. Refreshing, really! It’s sunny here so I think I’ll be off to run some errands and to do just that.

Handmade Weddings ~ Guest Post on Going Home to Roost
Do take a peek at Going Home to Roost today – Bonnie was kind enough to ask me to do a guest post, and I’ve found some fun finds that are perfect for the bride to be. I’m especially excited about a free set of gorgeous printable invitations I found and have shared on her site. The pictures above are from the etsy shops of Bliss in a Teacup and Sarah Parrott.

Like many of you, I saw Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution preview on Oprah last week, and it got me thinking about ways to encourage myself to cook more and to eat more healthy foods. I like his approach and how it focuses on finding balance.
For inspiration, I’ve been perusing the recipes Jamie has on his website.
I also like the idea of using these recipe cards from Etsy. I think having these around would make collecting new recipes more fun!

How about you? What do you do to encourage yourself to cook healthy meals?

Easter’s just around the corner! Maybe you have a niece or nephew or friend who would appreciate an Easter card? I found a couple cute ones on Etsy that I wanted to share.
1). Card on Left – Vintage Paper Parade 2). Card on Right – Monkey Mind Design
On a side note – hope everyone had a great weekend! We had a sunny Saturday, which meant time on the seawall with my wonderful husband. So happy he’s back – after a week out of town for work. We had some showings of our apartment (it’s up for sale), and so far so good – some definite interest. Could be an interesting week!
