Handmade Finds – Pavel Sidorenko

August 11, 2010

Is it alright that I miss the rain? Kind of strange for me as the number of times I’ve considered moving to California, just for the weather, can’t be counted on two hands.

Have you seen the work of Pavel Sidorenko already? I spotted in on the Cargoh blog recently and I’ve got to say it’s pretty neat. Pavel reworks old records and from them he creates some really fun clocks. To check out the whole collection click here.

patio water

How beautiful is this water side patio! I spotted it a few days ago on Skona Hem and have been meaning to post about it. I’m a bit under the weather today so I’ll leave you with this image – and if you click here you’ll see many more gorgeous patios they’ve highlighted down the left hand side of the page.

Pigeon Toe Ceramics – Portland

August 2, 2010

pigeon toe ceramics

Pigeon Toe Ceramics has launched a Fall 2010 Preview for us all to take a peek at here – I’d love to add so many of the new items to our home, I’ve certainly got my eye on that gorgeous bird feeder! Word is they’ll be launching all of their new products on August 15th. It’s been fun to watch Pigeon Toe Ceramics grow and grow over the last year: expanding their product line, opening a shop in Portland and adding products from other artists to their shop.

Hope your long weekend has been fun!

Cottage Getaways…

July 27, 2010

All of us city dwellers probably have cottage getaways on the brain right about now – I sure do. So when I came across this sweet home on Better Homes and Gardens I knew I wanted to share it here. I’m really taken in by this space, the color palette used is just so pretty and mellow. Seems to me, hanging out here, you couldn’t be anything but really relaxed!

Vintage Home Decor Inspiration

July 15, 2010

vintage home decor

Lots of vintage home decor to be found on Etsy these days – here are some finds from a couple shops I spotted recently and am inspired by… I’m one of those people that loves so many different styles and picking just one is very tough for me to do. We currently live in a condo in downtown Vancouver – but in time we know we’ll move elsewhere so I’m hesitant to do too much decorating at this point. In the meantime I’ll continue to collect inspiration here and see if I can narrow things down even just a little bit!

Handmade Housewares – i am dorkas

July 14, 2010

handmade apron

You get the sense browsing through i am dorkas’s shop that there is a history behind each unique item that is for sale. I personally fell in love with the apron and napkins pictured above, and I couldn’t resist including the vintage picture of Mari’s mom who made the apron. i am dorkas is a family affair with both Mari and her mom making kitchen linens, Mari and her boyfriend collaborating to create jewelry, and Mari’s talented boyfriend taking photos of it all. One part shop – one part scrapbook and family history, i am dorkas features fabrics found in Finland and jewelry made from clock pieces – I think you’ll want to browse around a bit to learn more about fun loving Mari and her family. Click here to visit the shop.
