Somebody’s going to need to hold me back from purchasing everything in Paper Leaves cute and quirky shop! Each item is so humorous and innovative. Their creator, Kristin, has her own very interesting story. After studying environmental studies and anthropology in college she set off for India to set up an ecovillage. She’s back in the States now as her visa has expired – but will be returning to begin work on this project again. In her own words: “I see capitalist culture as basically unsustainable, and decided to try and create a microcosmic alternative to that.” Kristin is a big fan of Etsy because it gives each of us an alternative to buying mass-produced goods and because of the support if offers to artists and craftspeople.
