Inspired by: Alexander von Humboldt’s new botanical book

alexander von humboldt botanical book

Today I’m inspired by Alexander von Humboldt’s new botanical book: “Botanical Exploration of the America’s” which I spotted over on Cool Hunting. I’m happy to see the botany trend continue on the blogs and in design – every time I see an item inspired by it, it reminds me to make some time to get outside – and of the simpler pleasures in life. Hope you had a great weekend – I was happy to be able to spend some time with the new paint and the art supplies that I got on Friday! Would love to hear about your weekend projects or happenings…

Here we are, almost the weekend! Hope you have some fun things planned. I’m heading to my favorite art store today to pick up some supplies which will definitely keep me busy over the weekend.

Wanted to share some of my favorites from around the web with you this week:

1). How great is this public art project that Poppytalk featured here.

2). Scoutiegirl’s got us thinking about our creative selves in a great post here.

3). Did somebody say Contest?? Check out Indieicing here for a chance to win some beautiful prints.

4). I adore Bonnie Forkner’s new site design, and the pottery she featured here, so gorgeous.

5). Have you joined Indiefixx’s fun penpal project? Now’s the time, you can learn more and sign-up here.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity yesterday to guest post on Etsy’s blog, the Storque! Inspired by summer road trips I rounded up some finds for your summer cottage and time relaxing out on the open road. You can read the post here if you’d like. Loft Inspiration

May 24, 2010

What a gorgeous loft space… It’s fun to dream from time to time here on the blog just how lovely it would be to live in a home that is this beautifully decorated and with such a keen eye for design.

I’ve paired some of the pics with a few great Etsy finds.

Triangle House

Do you love this house as much as I do? My only concern – curtains… Not sure how that would work out here.

Wonder how this space would look on a snowy day? Pretty unreal I imagine!

After some more homework – it appears that this is a “concept home”, and the visualization is by Peter Guthrie. Found via: Finetingogsjokolade blog.
