I resolve to….

I know many of us have our minds on New Years resolutions this week. And I’m sure many people think making resolutions is not the best use of time/energy, but personally I’m a big fan. I feel like resolutions don’t need to be limited to January 1st either. A resolution is a wonderful thing – a chance and an opportunity to do things differently, a fresh start, a new beginning at any time of the year. And if you fail? You can always try again.

That’s why I was inspired when I stumbled upon Tif’s (aka Dottie Angel) photostream and blog – and learned that she made an interesting “resolution” on her last birthday. She decided to purchase only vintage/handmade/thrifted items for one year – as a way to distract herself from fretting about getting older and the years rolling by. Tif, via her flickr stream, has been kind enough to invite us into her cozy home, so beautifully and creatively decorated with unique finds. She also has a lovely etsy shop you can see here.

Instead of resolving not to do something this year, perhaps we can all resolve to do something good either for ourselves or for others!

Check back this week as we have more on the topic of resolutions – and feel free to share yours.

Oh, those photos are stunning! The clogs!

Such a lovely post, and I’m so glad to hear we’re on the same wavelength at the moment. It’s a good place to be I think, resolving to make acheivable improvements here and there, to grow and connect. I love it all!

I’m really loving your blog, and am excited to see whats in store tomorrow!

Thanks Becka for stopping by! I can say this is the best New Years I’m having yet, so motivated by time spent with friends, family and all you fellow creative types, I love our positive outlook for 2010 – even with it only 4 days old. :)

  3. Just the best images ever, they inspire happiness!
