Welcome to Handmade Evolution

November 12, 2009

Handmade Evolution will be bringing you all kinds of wonderful finds from the world of handmade here in North America.

We Feature:
- Indie fashion and accessories
- Home decor and inspiration
- Art
- Local events (Portland, Vancouver, Toronto) ….and much more!

What’s Handmade Evolution all about?
Over the last several years I noticed a surge in the amount of handmade and locally made goods available on the internet and at local boutiques and shows. At first I was attracted to the unique creations purely from a design point of view – impressed by all the details and innovation that went into the work that I was seeing. Then over time I began to realize some really exciting things about the handmade movement. In purchasing these items we are allowing a wonderful independent art and design community to flourish in North America. We are buying items that are made in ethical working conditions by talented individuals who often care a great deal about our environment and the communities we live in. Additionally, a reduction in the distance the goods we purchase have to travel also means a lower environmental footprint.

We hope you’ll enjoy our daily updates!
